I am starting in business and need an accountant, what do I need to do?

The meeting also gives us an opportunity to tell prospective clients about Phipps & Co and the services which we provide.I am a new client, what information do I need to bring with me to the first meeting?
Most importantly, we require you to bring some photo ID (ie a passport or driving licence) and a copy of a utility bill to confirm your residential address. If you have a company, we will also require a copy of the company’s certificate of incorporation. It is always helpful if you are also able to bring a copy of your latest accounts and tax return (if available).
How does Phipps & Co charge for its services?
We charge on a time basis. However, we will be happy to give you an indication of our costs prior to commencing work. Rather than incur our fees on an annual basis, many of our clients now set up standing order arrangements to pay our fees on a monthly basis which helps their cash flow.I am based in London, can Phipps & Co deal with my affairs?
Yes, we have clients all over this country and also have several overseas clients. With improved communications technology, it is no longer necessary to have a local accountant.I am dissatisfied with my existing accountant, how easy is it to transfer my affairs?
Once you have advised your existing accountant of your decision to change we will correspond with you and your accountant to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.
